SLO Coast Alliance

"With the largest environmental groups in the county working together in unity and cooperation, I find it troubling that there are those who want to perpetuate the myth of a huge rift. I work with some wonderful SCA directors, we all get along, and we all have the same philosophy for protecting our coast. Because there is no disagreement on the issues, we have made great strides already. We have made public comments not only on the Hearst Corporation plans, but also the need for Marine Sanctuary protection of our coastal waters, in support of the Carrizo Plain National Monument, and we have worked to get the word out and prepare for the Coastal Commission meetings... There is always room for groups with different philosophies, and they run better separately than together.

"We need to speak truth to power, and nurture our unity. Then we can empower the people of this community with the truth to defend our fair lands."
